Omar K. Matar (OKM) is a Royal Academy of Engineering/PETRONAS Research Chair in Multiphase Fluid Dynamics in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Vice Dean of Engineering at Imperial College London. He has received an MEng in Chemical Engineering (First Class Honours) from Imperial, and a PhD from Princeton University. OKM is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, and the current co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Engineering Mathematics, having been co-Editor-in-Chief of Multiphase Science and Technology. He has co-authored over 230 refereed papers (h-index 44) in the area of multiphase flows with complexities arising from the presence of particulates, surfactants, heat and mass transfer, phase change, complex rheology, as well as turbulence. OKM is the director of the three-university, and 14-company Transient Multiphase Flow Consortium, established in 1996, and the deputy Director of a Centre for Doctoral Training in Fluid Dynamics across Scales at Imperial.
